Garnett Edward "Poage" Cregger, age 92, of Wytheville, VA passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was born May 4, 1925 in Wythe County, the son of the late Arthur M. and Bircha Blessing Cregger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ellen "Tooter" Hall Cregger and several brothers and sisters. He was a lifelong farmer in Wythe County.

Garnett is survived by his son, Leon and Dianne Cregger of Rural Retreat, VA; grandchildren, Mary Ellen "Cricket" King and Tim of Rural Retreat, VA, Kevin Cregger and girlfriend Amy Bachman of Wytheville, VA; great-grandchildren, Carmen and Evan King; sisters, Edna "Bett" Peak of Cedar Bluff, VA, Cecile "Curly" Kincer of Wytheville, VA, Shirley "Pee Wee" Kegley and Peyton of Charleston, WV; sister-in-law, Ann Cregger of Wytheville, VA; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and inurnment will take place at at later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Bethel Cemetery Fund. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, VA is serving the Cregger family.
