Garnett "Buck" Ray Sheets, 81 of Wytheville VA, passed away, Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born May 18, 1944 in Wythe County VA, he was the son of the late Henry and Lottie Umberger Sheets.

Buck was an avid outdoorsman, He loved hunting and fishing and horses and always enjoyed hunting trips out west. He was an excellent mason and the go to guy for masonry work. He built many houses in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina; he also helped to build the Big Walker Mountain Tunnel in Bland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virgie Jane Shepard and Dorothy Hall.

Survivors include his wife, Malinda Leonard Sheets, one son Aaron Clemons, three daughters, Melissa Harris and husband Jason, Kaylin Mabry and husband Kyle, Donna Grubb and husband Larry, one brother David Sheets, special nephew Bill Shepard, and cousin whom he thought of as a brother Clayton Corvin, nine Grandchildren, and five Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted, Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Barnett Funeral Home at 1 p.m., with Pastor Richard Collins officiating; burial will follow at West End Cemetery in Wytheville VA. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Monday, December 22, 2025 from 12 Noon until service time at the Barnett Funeral Home.
