Gary Steven Safewright, age 65, of Georgetown, SC, formally of Wytheville, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, James Steven Safewright; step-father, Jack Dixon Mills and son, Erik Steven Safewright.

Survivors include his mother, Florence Safewright Mills of Wytheville, VA; two sisters, Reta Buchanan of Wytheville and Shirley Poole (Gary) of Eufaula, Alabama; grandson, Jeronimo Sprite Safewright and granddaughter, Luna Bee Safewright, both of Murrells Inlet, SC; a niece, Deborah Buchanan of Wytheville and nephew, Terry Davis (Amy) of Wytheville.

A private service will be held at a later date.
