On February 10, 2022, Gaye "Lynn" Udell left this earth to go home to her Lord and her beloved family and animals that had preceded her in death. Lynn was an avid animal lover, raising horses, cattle, cats and dogs. She was a registered Angus breeder and loved her cows, which would come to her when she whistled. She was an exceptional seamstress who made her own Barbie clothes and many of her daughters' including a beautiful prom dress that made her daughter so happy. She had a strong stubborn streak and fierce determination. She was feisty and sarcastic as well, yet she was a very kind soul who would do anything for her family and friends. She was a fighter until the very end.

Lynn leaves behind a beloved brother, Steve Udell and his wife Pat Udell of Belvidere, IL; her daughter Kris Windel and a much loved granddaughter Peyton Windel of Roanoke, VA. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Lori Udell and niece Karla Yates of Wytheville, VA, nephew Andrew Udell of Vienna, VA and niece Catherine Udell of Ashburn, VA. She also leaves behind many surviving cousins including Peggy Flick of Lake Monticello, VA, Donna Stroupe of Crockett, VA, Becky Fields of Wytheville and Marty Leedy of Abingdon, VA. Second cousins include Michael Flick of Richmond, VA, Chelsea Stroupe of Thomasville, NC, Dreama Fields of Wytheville, Jeff Fields of Radford, VA, Diane "Tink" DeHaven of Wirtz, VA and Melissa "Lisa" Carter of Wytheville. She also leaves behind many, many friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, VA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery.
