George Willie Tynes, age 86, of Rocky Gap, VA (the Dry Fork community) passed away Monday, April 24, 2017. He was born October 30, 1930 in Bluefield, WV, the son of the late Ferge Anderson Tynes and Octivia Saunders Tynes. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia, Bertha and Helen and a brother, Marvin. George is survived by three brothers, James Arthur Tynes and Shirley of Columbus, OH, Lee Tynes of Dry Fork and Leonard Tynes of Columbus, OH; two sisters, Bessie Anderson of Columbus, OH and Hazel Tynes of Dry Fork; Several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Tynes Chapel with the Reverend Marviene Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Hogan Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
