George Graham Williams, 85 years, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 17, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and friends. George was born November 20, 1940 into a Wythe County farming family to the late James Ernest William Sr. and Alberta Jane Dix Williams. He was preceded by his parents, brothers Robert Williams, Lou Williams, Joe Williams, John Williams, and sisters Katherine “Sis” Callahan, Janie Harmon, and Bertha Underwood. He was the youngest boy of 11 children and never one to sit still. George owned and operated a meat processing facility in Bluefield, WV. For many years. He also worked at the Wythe County Livestock Exchanged and finally retired from the coal mines. He was active in the Rural Retreat United Methodist Church and was known for his apple butter making skills.

George is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ann Williams; son Jason Bruce Williams and companion Khala Campbell; grandson Payton Bruce Williams and wife Annie Williams; great granddaughter Hadley Williams; brother Jim Williams of Wytheville; sister Ruby Tickle of Draper; sister Edna and Ricky Parks of Wytheville; special friends of the family Harvey Scott, Derek Breedlove and Katherine Snavely Williams.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Pastor David Payne officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, April 20, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow service at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat, VA.
