Gerald "Rodney" Anderson of Glade Spring, VA went to be with his Lord on September 29, 2017.  He was born in Saltville, VA on March 28, 1940 to the late Earl P, and "Bunny" Urps Anderson.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, William P. Anderson and sister, Ann Gollehon.

Rodney worked at many jobs during his life: store clerk; Olin Mathieson; Brunswick Defense Plant (Sugar Grove) and the Virginia Forestry Department.  He was most proud of working for Westinghouse Wire Division in Abingdon for over 25 years.  He loved working, singing gospel music, and his horses.  His dog, Emma, was at his side when he passed.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 41 years, Eva Dutton Anderson; daughter, Lisa "E" Anderson Lambert and son-in-law Daniel Lambert of Crockett, VA; grandson, Joshua; his wife Bekah, and great-granddaughter, Alexandria Lambert of Harrisburg, PA; granddaughter, Leslie Lambert and fiance' Austin Pierce of Raleigh, NC; sister, Barbara Coe of Chilhowie, VA and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Reverend Scott Spence and Reverend Steve Castle officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. before the service.  Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or your favorite charity or church.
