Harold Mitchell Dunford, Sr., age 86, of Austinville, VA passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026. He was born February 13, 1940 in Wythe County, son of the late Brown and Maggie Austin Dunford. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nina Martin Dunford and a brother, Ralph Dunford.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Duane and Teresa Dunford, Gerald and Vivian Dunford, Mitchell and Wanda Dunford and Lane Dunford; grandchildren, Josh and Donna Dunford, Brien and Heather Harrell, Amanda Dunford and Nick, Kimberly Dunford, Zachery and Rebbeca Dunford, Allie Dunford and Chris Miller, Levi Dunford; great-grandchildren, Leland Dunford, Echo Corbett, Lilly Dunford, Waylon Dunford, Lainie-Rae Miller; a sister, Molly and Barry Horton; three brothers, Tom and Marie Dunford, Gilmer and Effie Dunford, Richard Dunford.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Reese Funeral Home with the Reverend Tommy Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the Dunford family.
