Harold Duel Hart, age 87, of Max Meadows, joined his beloved Naomi in their heavenly home on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He passed peacefully after a short illness. He was known for his abundant farming, financial and personal life advice.

Harold was born on April 8, 1937 and grew up in the Sandy Ridge Community of Russell County. He was the son of the late Ross "Bud" Homer Hart and Martha "Ma" Barton Hart. The 6th of 9 children, Harold was raised to help and look out for his brothers and sisters.

Harold and Naomi raised tobacco and ran a dairy farm during their time in Russell County. They moved their dairy operation to Wythe County in the 1980s. They built a home in the Fort Chiswell Community and later moved into beef and sheep farming.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Martha Hart; his loving wife of 62 years, Naomi Rose Nash Hart; 2 sisters, Ailena Weatherly and Janice Brown; a brother, Lloyd Hart; a daughter, Linda Musick and a great-grandson, Christopher Musick.

Left to cherish Harold's memory are his sons, Larry Ball and wife Carol, Michael Crabtree and wife Morgan; his daughter, Melissa Hicks and husband Chad; his sister, Linda Gaye Kiser and husband Mitt; 4 brothers, Nathan "Buster" Hart and wife Carroll, Claude Hart and wife JoAnn, Dallas Hart, Kenneth Hart and wife Joan; 14 grandchildren, Tom, Shannon, Gary, Joe, Katrina, Adam, Andy, Kesha, Devan, Haley, Kierra, Briar, Tillar and Bristol; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many extended family and close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Bond and Reverend Kent Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hart Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
