Harold Wendell Ramsey, age 84, of Bland, VA passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025. He was born November 27, 1940 in Dodge City, Kansas, son of the late Edward Ramsey and Lena Bond Ramsey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ramsey and sisters, Wilma Ramsey Winesett and Marilyn Robison.

Harold was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts for 27 years, the Bland Rescue Squad as well as served on the Bland Rescue Squad Board of Directors.

Survivors include his special great-niece, Sharon Shewey and John Khachane; special great-great-niece, Ember Olinger; a brother, Donald Ramsey of WV; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Bland Chapel with Jim Tunnell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Inurnment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery, Ceres, VA.  American Legion Post # 20, Bland, VA will conduct graveside military rites.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Bland Rescue Squad. The family extends special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care given to Harold during his illness.
