Harriett Leah Rasnick Stilwell known affectionately as Penny, age 87 of Ft Chiswell VA passed away Thursday February 2, 2023. Born August 4, 1935, in Caretta WV, she was the daughter of the late William Paul and Alafair Sarah Charles Rasnick.
She was recognized statewide for home canning and received several awards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband Delmar Weeks Stilwell, 6 brothers and sisters, Henry "Bud" Rasnick, Harrison Rasnick, H. Beatrice Mason, Helen Ledford, Hazel Schultz, Harvey Rasnick.
Survivors include: two daughters, Deborah "Lynn" Summers and husband Robert of Spruce Pine NC, Doris Gail Lawrence of Wytheville VA, Son Charles Glenn Lawrence of Morganton NC, brother H. Charles Rasnick and wife June of Mechanicsville VA, two grandchildren, Ashley Lawrence, Dana Brown, several great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday February 4, 2023, at pm 7 P.M. at Barnett Funeral Home burial will follow on Sunday February 5, 2023, at Dean Cemetery in Max Meadows VA. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
