Hattie Bowers Spraker, age 99, of Ivanhoe, VA passed away Monday, January 2, 2017. She was born September 6, 1917 in Carroll County, the daughter of the late James Albert and Ida Mae Newman Bowers and was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Lee Spraker. Hattie was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Ivanhoe.

She is survived by two great-nieces, Sonda Umberger of Ivanhoe, VA and Audrey Shirey of Sugar Grove, VA; great nephew, Edgar Albert Blair, II of Ivanhoe, VA; great-great niece, Haley Blair; great- great nephews, Hunter Umberger and Matthew Shirey; nephew, Dale Mitchell. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Reese Funeral Home with Dr. Doug Hyndrich officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ivanhoe.
