Hazel Marie Anders Blevins, age 94 of Rural Retreat, VA (the Cedar Springs community), passed away Monday, March 13, 2017.  She was born in Smyth Co., VA on September 9, 1922 the daughter of the late James Monroe Anders and Lockie Marie Jones Anders.  Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clinton Blevins and a daughter, Charlina B. Harden.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Ray Stowers of Rural Retreat, Connie and Charles Wright of King, NC; two sons & daughters-in-law, Larry and Donna Blevins, Gale and Becky Blevins all of Rural Retreat; son-in-law, Doug Harden of Atkins, VA; ten precious grandchildren, Missy Smith, Mark Harden, Tammy Bales, Kerry Middleton, Shelly Stowers, Crystal Jennings, Ricky Wright, Lockie Blevins, L.C. Blevins, Joshua Blevins; fifteen precious great-grandchildren, Tyler, Kelsey Alisyn, Lockie, Lacy, Donnie, Zachery, Mason, Isac, Cynthia, Kiptyn, Harrison, Hamilton, Maddie, Mabry; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Eunice Anders of Pasadena, MD; many nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Funeral services will be held 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Mr. Adam Linkous and Rev. Kenny Price officiating followed by a graveside committal service to be held 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Groseclose, VA.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. prior to the service or they may call at the home at any time.  The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the American Cancer Society, the Asbury United Methodist Church or to the St. Jude's Research Hospital.
