Helen Dillow
Kidd
January 5, 1930 – May 5, 2025
Helen Dillow Kidd, 95, of Ceres went home to her Lord and Savior on May 5, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, J. C. Great grandchildren Brittni (Andy), Hannah (Josh), Anna, Afton, Cohen, Elliot, James, Nathaniel, Madeleine, Justin, Trevor, Kinsley, Isabella, Olivia, Clinton, Colby, Chloe and Elijah plus another on the way, survive. Great-great-grandchildren Drew and Camilla, along with one forthcoming, also remain. Sister-in-law Betty T. Dillow. Many nieces and nephews, too numerous to name called her Aunt Helen.
Mamaw as she was affectionately known by most was a farm wife. She milked cows until she was 75 years old while tending a big garden. She was the last remaining member of the Bland High School class of 1949. One of her cherished memories was her 90th birthday celebration at which she was able to talk to the more than 125 people who came and later enjoyed over and over the pictures of everyone. As late as the day before her passing, she was asking questions about how people were doing or how they liked their new situations. Her memory never failed.
The family would like to especially thank their personal caregivers, Beverly Cardin, Kristina St. Clair, Malinda Howard, Judy Lowe, and Diane Tucker, whom she dearly loved over the last five years, which allowed her to spend her last days at home as well as the employees of Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia. Of special mention is "little Pam" Kline. There were also many great friends who kept in touch. Every one of them has been angels with divine appointments.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Red Oak Church cemetery upkeep in care of Treasurer, Betty Harden, 7009 West Blue Grass Trail, Ceres, VA 24318 or Red Oak Church in care of Treasurer, Valerie Mutter 1810 Highway 107, Chilhowie, VA 24319 or Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 705 E.
