Helen McGrady Thomas, age 76, of Speedwell, VA passed away Saturday, April 26th, 2025.  She was born on March 16th, 1949 in Wythe County, VA.  She was the daughter of the late Harley and Abbie McGrady.  She was a member of Groseclose Chapel United Methodist Church and she retired after 26 years of services from Heilig-Myers/Schewels Furniture.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger D. Thomas, brothers Herman McGrady, William McGrady, Clarence McGrady, Howard McGrady, Paul McGrady, Billy McGrady, and James McGrady, and sisters Gladys Reynolds, Freida Bedsaul, and Josie Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter Tracy Trivitt and Chad of Rural Retreat, brother Junior McGrady and Sandra of Wytheville.  Two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Trivitt and Brianna, and Delanie Trivitt.  One great-grandson Kingston Trivitt, along with several nieces and nephews.

The Thomas family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Commonwealth Senior Living and MSA Hospice of Abingdon, VA for all the wonderful care that she received during her time at Commonwealth.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29th, at Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Mr. Brian Smith.  With interment at the Groseclose United Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 30th, at 11:00 AM.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Helen's memory.
