August 3, 1956 – July 30, 2024
Henry (James) Corvin, age 67, of Rural Retreat passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on July 30, 2024.
Henry loved the Lord first in his life, followed by his devoted wife, Pam of 44 years, then came his many children and grandchildren. Henry was born in Wytheville, VA to Jimmy and Patsy Corvin. He is preceded in death by his father James "Jimmy" Corvin, sister Debbie Corvin, brother Mark Corvin and infant grandson Henry Ian Stroupe.
Henry had a love for drag racing from a young age. Which led to his 1964 Mercury Comet which he restored with his own hands. Henry loved working on classic cars and going to car shows with his best friend Roger Jarvis. Henry and Pam owned Rural Retreat Auto Repair for 17 years. Where he made lifelong friendships with so many people. He could fix, fabricate, improve, and cook anything, but "paint brushes just didn't fit his hand." Henry also loved taking his beloved dog "Apache" to Parkway Gas, where he would buy her a hot dog. He enjoyed shopping for parts for his projects with his sons and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Pamela "Pam" Jarvis Corvin, mother Patsy Corvin, sister Jeanie Pickle, brother Tony Corvin and wife Terri, His son, Anthony Corvin and his wife Becca; daughter Cindy Stevens and husband Adam; daughter Jessica Stroupe and husband Jason; son Josh Corvin and wife Becca; Also seven grandchildren, Clay Stevens, Carly Rose Stevens, Case Stevens, Riley Corvin, Raegan Corvin, Meagan Corvin, and Logan Stroupe. A host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Lindsey Funeral Home, Friday August 02, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastors Jacob Vanover and Jamin Boyer officiating. Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Ambassador Christian Academy 201 Catron St; Rural Retreat, VA 24368
