Herman George Dalton, 78, of Barren Springs, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025. Born August 9, 1946 in Wythe County, he was the son of the late Herman Nell and Bessie Pickett Dalton.

He loved to play the guitar and played in church when he was able.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Herman George Dalton Jr; grandson, Michael Herman Johnston Pelton; one great grandson, Aiden Jones; son in law, Larry Curtis Deaton; two brothers, Walter Dalton and Herman Neil Dalton; two sisters, Sue Snow and Oakey Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Sue Dalton of the home; two daughters, Sheila Larue of Barren Springs VA, Priscilla Donathan and husband Robert of Barren Springs, VA; one son, James Dalton of Barren Springs VA; one brother, Harold Dalton and wife Linda of Barren Springs, VA; one sister, Daisy Kirk of Hillsville VA; 11 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. Special children, Frank Barnes, Joe Barnes, David Barnes, Michael Barnes, Carol Barnes (Sams).

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 7 p.m. at Reese Funeral Home with Pastor John Lawson officiating. Burial will be Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11 a.m.  at the Horton Family Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Reese Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. service time.
