Hobert Wayne Sheets, age 93, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Monday, July 4, 2022. He was born April 25, 1929 in Burkes Garden, VA. He was the son of the late Robert Leslie Sheets and Maggie Baumgardner Sheets. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Conley Sheets; two sisters, Helen Blankenship and husband Sidney and Gussie Clayborn and husband Bas. Hobert was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Sheets and wife Billie of Woodlawn VA, Roger Sheets and wife Betty of Bastian, VA; one daughter, Christine Thompson and husband Michael S. of Max Meadows; seven grandchildren, Patrick Stowers, Lisa and Terry Beavers, Keith Sheets, James Sheets, Alison and John Kirby; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Beavers, Sidney Hellen Stowers, Austin Kirby, Joey Thompson, Jaks Thompson and Branson Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Hugh Matlock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time.

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV.
