Howard Clarence "Pete" Dunford, age 91, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024. He was born August 19, 1932 in Wythe County, the son of the late Ellis P. and Luella Akers Dunford. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bailey M. Dunford; a daughter-in-law, Belisa Dunford and ten siblings. Pete attended St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Dunford; five sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Ray and Carolyn Dunford of Max Meadows, Dennis L. Dunford of Max Meadows, Curtis and Jenny Dunford of Piney, Paul S. Dunford of Pulaski, James Keith and Pearl Dunford of Pulaski. Ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and many extended family and close friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Bob Lewis and Reverend Tony Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
