James "Jim" Ralph Brown, Jr., age 78, of Bland, VA passed away Monday, November 24, 2025. He was born May 7, 1947 in Bland County, and was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Hounshell Brown and grandparents, Henry and Virginia Dillow Hounshell.

Survivors include his wife, Linda "Beth" Brown of the home; his son, Jimmy Mack Brown of Bland; grandson, James Randolph "Randy" Brown and Kaitlin of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter, Josephine Paige "Josie" Brown of Rural Retreat, VA; brother, Steve and Nancy Brown of Bland; two half-brothers, Colby Brown and Annette of Bland and Randy Brown of Wytheville; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many extended family and close friends also survive.

Abiding by Jim's wishes, there will be no services. The family will receive friends at the residence at any time.
