James "Junie" Cleveland Hayton, Jr. of Ceres, Virginia passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 7. Junie was the seventh and youngest child born to the late Nina (Williams) (Hayton) Robinson and the late James C. Hayton, Sr. on November 3, 1934. He attended the Ceres schools and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a long time employee and retiree of General Dynamics in Marion.

Junie is survived by his sister-in-law Felicia Hayton; his nieces Carol Hayton, Joann Hayton, Rhonda Hayton Clary, Wanda Hayton Lyons, Debbie Hayton Duke; his nephews Joseph Hayton, Billy Chapman; and many great nieces and  nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Leon, Ralph, Lawrence, Lewis, Andrew and Nora Lee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Highland Bland Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Neil Hammonds officiating.

Interment will follow in Sharon Lutheran Cemetery in Ceres.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
