James Lewis Waddle, age 81, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025. He was born October 20, 1943 in Bland County. He was the son of the late Leonard Lawrence Waddle and Haven Claudine Farmer Waddle. He was preceded in death by the mother of his daughters, Linda Mustard Waddle; 2 brothers, Raymond Lee Waddle and Michael Waddle; step-son, Shane Hamblin.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy L. Waddle of Dublin, VA; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Derrick Haun of Wytheville, Samantha and James Dean of Piney; 5 grandchildren, Marissa, Jakob, Tabitha, Miranda and Dakota; 10 great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Raylan, Willow, Raine, Rennin, Raeleigh, Maverick, Maevery, Rinley and Brooke. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Bland Chapel with the Reverend Don Shelor officiating. Burial will follow in the Waddle Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the ALS Association at www.projectals.org or the Dublin United Methodist Church.
