Jane Davis
Crowgey
November 29, 1936 – March 15, 2024
Jane Davis Crowgey - a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother - passed away peacefully in the morning on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Carrington Place Assisted Living Facility. She was 87 years old.
Jane was born in 1936 in Burkes Garden, Virginia to Jack and Hattie Davis. She grew up on the family farm with her two older brothers, Glen and Gene, and one younger (surviving) brother, Kirk Davis and wife Barbara.
She attended high school in Marion, Virginia, and college at Radford College (now University). While attending Radford, she met the love of her life, Leonard Joseph Crowgey, Jr. on a blind date. They married on October 14, 1956, and were together for 67 years.
Jane worked alongside Joe managing and eventually owning Richdale farm. She was a hard worker who raised 3 rambunctious boys, handled the farm finances and oversaw the baby calves. Jane was a pillar of strength and instilled a strong work ethic and willful direction for her family. She loved God and faithfully attended Wytheville Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and making wreaths at Christmastime.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Joseph Crowgey, Jr. and sons:
Stan and his wife Elizabeth Crowgey and their children, Lindsey and Robert Cooper, Zac and Whitney Crowgey, and Chase, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Eric and his wife Lisa and their children, Rachel and Hunter Wilson, Aaron and Jordan Crowgey, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Keith and his wife Tammie and their children, Kelsey, Kaleigh, Brenna and Brooke Crowgey.
A memorial service will be held at Wytheville Baptist Church on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 5:00pm. Visitation will precede the service from 3:00 – 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Wytheville Baptist Church.
Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Virginia, is serving the Crowgey family.
