Jane G. Loomis, age 90, of Wytheville, VA passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born July 23, 1933 in Smyth County, VA, daughter of the late William Troy Gillespie and Susie Pearl Brickey Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest F. Loomis and her sister, Phyllis G. Cook.

Jane was a retired school teacher with the Wythe County School System and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Loomis Smith of Wytheville; grandson, David Elijah and Ally McKensey Smith of Lynchburg, VA; her brother, William Troy "W.T." Gillespie, Jr. of Broadford, VA.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Ridgedale Cemetery, 1112 Ridgedale Road, Saltville, VA 24370, with Pastor Donnie Bailey officiating.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
