Janet Louise Brooks, age 75, of Bland, VA passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in Bland. She was born October 13, 1949 in Caretta, WV, daughter of the late Felix Gilbert Jones and Pearl Sopsher Jones. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R Brooks; grandson, Triston Noah Froy; brother, Palmer Atwell; two sisters, Shirley Webb and Mary Sue Jones.

Janet attended Bluefield High School. She worked as an operator for Bluefield Telephone Company for many years. The remainder of her working years was manufacturing. She was a dedicated and devoted mother and grandmother and loved her extended family at Bastian Union Church in Bastian.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny Froy and Amanda Froy, Eric Brooks and Danielle Brooks; four sisters, Opal Thibado, Frances Thomas, Carolyn Cary, Linda Billips and husband Rex Billips; one brother, Thomas Jones, Sr and wife Joyce Jones; five grandchildren, Dana Spencer, Caelynn Froy, Nate Brooks, Parker Brooks and Kamdyn Froy; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Spencer and Atlas Spencer; special friends, Carole Hale and Sandra Burton; beloved dog, "Bailey."

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Barry Busby officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, WV.
