Jeanna Sue Porter went home to be with the Lord at 9 A.M. on April 25th, 2023. She was surrounded by her family, who encouraged her in song as she was greeted by her Savior. Jeanna has always been a source of comfort, encouragement, and godly wisdom to her family and friends. She has also been such an encouragement to so many children through the years as she taught Sunday School and Bible Bowl. She had a passion for education, in faith and in academics, as she taught her kids in home education and others at church. Everyone who met Jeanna, whether for a day or for a lifetime, could feel the love she had for everyone, and the love she had for God and for his Word. No one could walk away from her without being impacted in some way. She has joined so many family members and friends who have received their heavenly reward, including her father, Howard Eugene Osborne Jr. (Gene).

She leaves behind so many to continue her legacy - husband Bill Porter, son and daughter-in-love Aric and Allison Porter, son Alex Porter, mother and father Karen and Robert Taylor, sister and brother-in-love Crystal and Acy Collins, nephews Corbet and Christian Collins, as well as so many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family in-law-and-love, friends and family in the Lord, as well as the many students that have held a special place in her heart.

There will be a visitation for the family on Saturday, April 29th, at 3 pm at her home church, Community Christian Church in Newbern, VA, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 5 pm at the church. Flowers can be sent to the church at 5382 Grace Street , Dublin, VA 24084 or in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the church, The A.J. Smiles Fund through the church, or to the Home School Legal Defense Association. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Porter family.
