Jeffrey Scott Patton

Jeffrey Scott Patton, age 79, of Wytheville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

He was born in Wytheville, Virginia, on September 7, 1947, to the late Warren Scott Patton and Mary Charlotte Bennington Patton. Jeffrey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He honorably served with the State Police of Virginia for 29 ½ years, retiring as a Master Trooper. A faithful believer, he attended Sharon Baptist Church for 18 years, where he deeply cherished his church family.

An avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, Jeffrey achieved two Grand Slams of wild turkey during his life. He found great joy in being outdoors and sharing hunting trips with his good friends, Allen Burke, Daniel Rorrer and Bill Slate.

He is survived by his wife Alice Patton; his son, Jeffrey Scott Patton II of Texas; his grandson, Boone Patton; his sister Dr. Susan Walker of Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at the Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Jack Rutherford and Evangelist Harold Goins officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the service time at the Church. Burial will follow the service at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.
