Obituary

Jimmy Lee Wagoner, age 73, of Wytheville, Virginia, passed away at his home on June 20, 2024. He was born on May 7, 1951, at his Grandpa Smallwood's home in Elk Creek, Virginia to Bessie Florence Smallwood and James Floyd Wagoner. Jimmy was a devoted husband, loving
father, deacon, and Sunday school teacher. He served as a Staff Sargent in the Air Force before he started his work career as an accountant, truck driver, and then a storekeeper at American Electric Power. Jimmy was loved for his sense of humor and natural ability to make everyone
smile. He never met a stranger, and he always kept God and his family his top priorities in his life. He loved telling stories of his childhood in Elk Creek and all the adventures he had with his siblings and his horse Tony. He met his wonderful wife Lisa at his home church of 45 years,
Holly Grove Baptist Church. He was the biggest supporter, always encouraging everyone saying, "you can do it, everything will work out" and "it will be alright". He led by being positive and knowing that with God all things are possible. He loved listening to music at the Chautauqua
Festival, always dancing with the biggest smile on his face. He was a faithful servant of God, and now he is dancing in heaven.
