John Russell Catron, age 90, of Wytheville, VA passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home.   He was born in Wythe Co., VA on February 23, 1926 the son of the late Hubert Maiden Catron, Sr. and Hazel Willard Catron.  John was preceded in death by his wife, Jewette Virginia Eversole Catron; daughter, Donna Camper; sisters, Madge Fielder, Loraine Heldreth and a brother, Hubert M. Catron, Jr.

He is survived by a son, Dale Catron and fiance' Teresa Lovelace and her son Hunter Cable; grandchildren, Hunter Kyle Catron and fiance' Amber, Tammy Crockett, Shane Scott; four great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Rev. Derek Cowan and Pastor Cindy Privette officiating with a graveside committal service to be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the West End Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Ashley Williams, 6084 Cedar Springs Road, Rural Retreat, VA 24368.  A special thanks to Pastor Cindy Privette for her kindness and caring during his very special time of need!
