John Richard Marshall, age 78, of Cripple Creek, VA passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born February 8, 1947 in Norfolk, VA, son of the late James H. Marshall, Jr. and Frances Caroline Davis Marshall.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Marshall of the home; his son, James Richard Marshall and his daughter and son-in-law, Angela Jill and Danny Arnold, all of Cripple Creek; two grandchildren, Zach Arnold and Jonathan Arnold; three great-grandchildren, Fox Arnold, Jolene Rose and Josie Rose; two sisters, Carolyn Cox and Debbie Willard, both of Rural Retreat.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Chuck Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Crockett Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Marshall family.
