John Robert Wright, 80, of Shawsville VA, passed away, Monday, March 4, 2024. Born January 4, 1944, in Wythe County VA, he was the son of the late Shelby Wright and Bonnie McAllister Wright.

He liked going fishing and playing with the Kids. He enjoyed working on cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Sawyers and Richard Allen Sawyers; three sisters, Rita Hall Debord, Anita Sawyers and Sheila Sawyers.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Wright of the home; one son, Robert Wright of Shawsville, VA; sister Patricia Smith of N.C.; two grandchildren, Matthew Wright and girlfriend Kayla Carter, Mark Wright and girlfriend Rene McIntire; five great grandchildren, Dekin Wright, Catelyn Wright, Sebastian Wright, Curtis Carter, Roxie Carter; several friends of the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Waldron Community Center, 276 Alleghany Spring Road, Shawsville, VA 24162. Barnett Funeral home is serving the Wright family.
