Joseph "Joe" Arthur West, age 79, of Rural Retreat, VA., passed away December 29, 2022. He was born May 22, 1943, son of the late Arthur Woodrow West and Cecile Ceary West. He was preceded in death by his second wife Diane Jane Huddle West, and sister Virginia Gail West Hall.

Survivors include

Daughters Carrie West and Mandy West of Rural Retreat; Wife Kathleen P. West of Rural Retreat; Step Son Michael Mathis of Wytheville; Brother Allen and Kathy West of Rural Retreat; Grandchildren Malana West (Travis), Clayton Vaughan (Lakoda), Jordan Wade (Josh), Eli Bobbitt (Becky), and Zoe Cantrell (Jakob); Great Grandchildren Abigail, Logan, Tanner, Gannon, Grainger, Scarlett, and Casen; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023, 7:00 PM at Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Reverend Paul Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
