Joshua Whitaker, age 47, of Wytheville, VA passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026. He was born April 2, 1979 in Montgomery, Alabama.

Joshua loved to draw and fix things. He enjoyed fishing and was a big-time gamer.

Survivors include his mother, Rhonda Story Hall; his father, Michael Thomas Whitaker; his fiancée, Alison Tassler; a daughter, Ivy Whitaker; a son, Leland Whitaker; a sister, Ashley Snead; a brother, Lee Ryan; special aunt, Patty and her husband R.J.; uncles, Mickey Story, Jimmy Story and wife Missy. Many cousins, extended family members and friends also survive.

There will be a gathering of family and friends to remember Joshua and celebrate his life at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Carters Park in Max Meadows.
