Judy Porter Reese age 80 of Max Meadows VA passed away peacefully with her husband by her side Wednesday, February 26, 2025. She was born December 18, 1944 in Carroll Co, VA, the daughter of the late Emma Gay Porter and James Michael Sisk.

She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Theresa Reese and Kathy Reese; uncles, Jimmy Porter and Chitwood Porter; cousin, Shane Porter; great-niece, Erin Lester; her sister in-law and husband, Craig and Sue Reese Allison; brother-in-law, Doug Chrisley and nephew, Mike Hubble.

Judy was a loving wife of 53 years to Tom Reese Sr. She worked tirelessly at his side, serving so many families in the community through the funeral and monument businesses, beginning with the Reese Funeral Home and later Highland Funeral Service with its additional locations. Judy and Tom Sr were the co-owners and operators of Highland Funeral Service and Riverside Monument Company for many years. Judy and Tom Sr worked side by side, day by day to see that the needs of others were always met. Judy was a Past Matron of Evansham Chapter # 97 Order of the Eastern Star in Wytheville VA and was a past president of the Quota Club in Wytheville VA. She was a member of the Galena Presbyterian Church. Judy will be remembered by so many families she served as a caring person who had a warm smile, a kind heart and a willingness to serve in any way she could. Judy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a loving sister and sister-in-law and a special friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tom Reese Sr of the home; her son and daughter in-law, Tom Jr and Judy" Jr" Reese of Foster Falls, VA; her daughter, Sherree Reese of Wytheville VA; son-in-law, Jeff Stewart of North Carolina; her brother and sister-in-law Billy & Jenny Porter of Wytheville VA; her sisters-in-law, Linda Chrisley of Max Meadows VA, Jamie and husband Buck Hubble of Pulaski VA; her niece and spouse, Amy and Timmy Lester and her nephew and spouse, Billy Joe & Missy Porter. her grandchildren Amy & Lindsey Perdue & Josh & Jessica Justus, her  great grandchildren Annabelle Perdue, Ethan Perdue, Julianna Justus, Silas Perdue, Jace Justus, Several cousins, great nieces, great nephews and extended family and friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the Barnett Funeral Home with Dr Doug Hyndrich officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star ceremony will follow the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 PM until 7 PM service time. Burial will be private with family only with Reverend Hugh Matlack officiating.

The entire Highland Funeral Service staff is serving the Reese family.
