Justin Matthew Martin was born on Friday September the 3rd 2004 to Sarah Colleen Cuddy and Kenneth Todd Martin in Wytheville, VA at 12:30 p.m.

Justin grew up on his Granny and Granddaddy's farm in Crockett, VA. He loved being a big brother to Christopher James and Alice Lyn. Justin could often be found on the farm hunting, fishing or riding horses when he wasn't milking cows, feeding or working in the hay. There are many stories that will remain sacred memories.

Justin was a 2022 graduate of Rural Retreat High School, where he also obtained his welding certificate through the trade school. During his high school career Justin played football and wrestled for the Indians. He went on to open his own welding business in 2023, Martin Mobile Welding, LLC.

Justin met Courtney Hash of Piney Creek, NC December 3, 2023. What started as a joke by Courtney's friend turned into what was supposed to be a lifetime of life and love. In May of 2025 Justin moved to Piney Creek and on Friday October 3rd Justin took a knee and asked Courtney to spend the rest of her life with him as his wife.

Justin's passion for horses was started by his Granny Taylor and Star as a small child. He went on to use Susie Q, a foal from her favorite mare LP to further fan the flames of love for horses in children through a horseback riding program in NC.

Tragically, forever was cut short and Justin was called away from this earthly life due to a tractor accident on Thursday October 9th after spending the day hunting on the farm that he loved.

Justin is survived by his fiancée Courtney Hash of Piney Creek, NC. His bereaved parents Sarah Colleen (Bill) Cuddy of Crockett, VA and Kenneth Todd Martin (Janet) of Pulaski, VA; little brother Christopher James and baby sister Alice Lyn of Crockett, VA.

Justin is also survived by his Granddad Dr. Larry Taylor of Rural Retreat, VA;  Pawpaw Terry Martin of Wytheville, VA; Great Granddad Lewis "Boo" Shelton; Nana Kathy (Joe) Wheatley of Graham's Forge, VA; uncle Thomas (Heather) of Charlotte, NC; Levi (Jessica) of Charlottesville, VA; Drs. Seth (Debra) of Auburn, AL; Bradley (Tabitha) Martin of Rural Retreat, VA; Thad (Stefanie) of Crockett, VA; aunt Leah (Matthew) Anderson of Chilhowie, VA; uncle Phillip Martin of Wytheville, VA; Simon (Alex) of Auburn, AL; uncle Luke (Shannon) of Wytheville, VA; Uncle Thomas (Dina) Cuddy of Meadowview, VA; Rick (Debbie) Cuddy of Meadowview, VA; and David Cuddy of Emory, VA.

Justin is preceded in death by his beloved Granny Dr. Sheryl Taylor and Great Granny Teal Shelton.

Justin leaves behind special friends Acelon, Alijeh & Ariana Nunley of Rural Retreat, VA; a multitude of cousins, friends, coworkers and pets Star & Susie-Q the quarter horses and Roxie a heeler puppy to mourn his absence.

Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Asbury Church 203 Church St, Rural Retreat, VA with Pastor Paul Arnold and Pastor Derek Cowan officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 12 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church.
