Kathryn B. Dean, age 86, of Fort Chiswell, VA went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, September 5, 2024 where she is now rejoicing with her husband Bob and the many family members and loved ones that have gone on before her. She was born July 2, 1938 in Staffordsville, VA to the late John Slusher White and Josie Mae Pyles White. Kathryn touched many people throughout her life time and will be remembered by many.

Kathryn and her husband, John R. "Bob" Dean, Sr. enjoyed a wonderful life together for over 50 years. She provided much love and affection to everyone she knew. She was a substitute teacher and school bus driver. Kathryn and Bob were longtime and faithful members of Bethany United Methodist Church.

Kathryn was a loving and wonderful mother to her daughter, Missy Dean Corvin of Wytheville; and two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Kathy Dean of Austinville, Donny and Vickie Dean of Fort Chiswell; a proud maw-maw and grandma to her five grandchildren, Amanda Dean, Nevada and Gannon Davis, Morgan Dean, Madison Dean and Tyler Corvin; and great-maw-maw to Jagger Davis and Axton Davis; and her sister, Mary Jane Mitros of New Jersey. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Bethany Community Church with the Reverend Betsy Street and Reverend Bill Showman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1 p.m. service time. Burial will follow in the Bethany Church Cemetery.
