Kathy Crigger Armbrister, age 63, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Monday, May 30, 2022. She was born September 28, 1958 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Clayton F. and Emily Gravley Crigger.

Kathy was the owner and operator of the New River General Store for more than 23 years. She was a long-time member of Galena Presbyterian Church and a member of the Lead Mines Ruritan Club. Kathy was a kind and caring person who was a staple of the community; she was a friend to all she met and will be sadly missed by her many customers and friends.

Survivors include her husband, James R. Armbrister of the home; special nieces, Ashley and Gary Arnold of Wytheville, Heather and Lucas Hughes of Draper; special great nephews, Brady Hand, Landon Eversole and Leland Hughes; special cousin, Melissa Poole; three brothers, Clayton F. Jr. and Mildred Crigger, Howard Randolph Crigger and Kevin Lee Crigger all of Max Meadows; three nephews, David Crigger, Brandon Crigger and Mitchell Crigger; several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Hugh Matlack and Reverend Cindy Privette officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, June 4 ^th in West End Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Galena Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
