Larry Allen Rider, born August 17th, 1967, with his twin sister Lisa Ann in Gallipolis Ohio to the late Frederick C. Rider and Verdie Mae Rider. He is survived by his only son, Jack Allen Rider and grandson, James Dean Rider of Hillsville Virginia; his twin, Lisa Coleman of Reedsville Ohio and her spouse, Steve Coleman; his eldest brother, Rick Rider and spouse Pam of Memphis TN; his brother, Henry Rider of Rutland Ohio and brother Ray Rider and wife Haleigh Rider of Pulaski Virginia; many nieces and nephews.

Larry was a key reason for the success of Rider Scrap Iron and Metals of Barren Springs, Virginia in 2004 and several years following. He was hard working and loyal with several years of sobriety in a lifelong struggle with alcohol addiction. He was an original and charming man who loved nothing better than to sit by a fire. Always a smile and a humble thank you. He was loved and asked about often. His gentleness is already missed.

An informal memorial service will be held at the Rider Scrap Iron & Metals location in Barren Springs VA. (2227 Wysor Hwy, Barren Springs VA 24313) on Sunday May 31st, 2026, from 1pm-3pm to receive family and friends to commentate his memory and say goodbye.
