Larry Wayne "Bobby" Underwood age 73 of Wytheville, VA passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home. He was born in Wythe Co., VA on June 23, 1949 the son of the late Everett Clarence Underwood and Beatrice "Bea" Monahan Underwood. Bobby was a member of the Max Meadows United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Freeman. Bobby was always ready with a good word, a smile and a baseball game. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda M. Underwood; a son and wife, Chad and Marsha Underwood of Fancy Gap, VA; grandsons, Everett Cole Underwood, Cy Holton Underwood; sisters and brother-in-law, Donna "Tiny" and Tony Mabe of Max Meadows, VA, Danna "Teny" Underwood and companion Stan Massie of Ivanhoe, VA; brother-in-law Charles Freeman; special grand-dog, Lauren; several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Max Meadows United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Lindamood officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 9. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12 Noon prior to the service. The family invites all to gather at the church's fellowship hall for a meal after the service.
