Laura Bell Taylor Maynard, age 84, of Montpelier, VA passed away Friday, February 20, 2026. She was born December 14, 1941 in Wythe County, VA and was the daughter of the late James William Taylor and Pauline Lula Austin Taylor. Laura was preceded in death by three brothers, David Eugene Taylor, Oden Kelly Taylor and Chelcie Taylor.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Maynard of the home; four daughters, Rebecca Pauline and Richard Stagg of Maidens, VA, Lisa and Geoffrey Sale of Richmond, VA, Denice Maynard-Dorton of Caroline Co, VA and Martha Rachel Maynard of Montpelier, VA; her sister, Patsy Darlene Maynard of Valdese, NC and her brother, James Michael Taylor of Flatwoods, VA. Seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Reese Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time.

Burial will follow in Bethany Community Church Cemetery.
