Lawrence Rice, 80, of Austinville VA, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Born January 6, 1944, in Dot WV, he was the son of the late Frank Lee and Thelma Thomas Rice.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Lee Rice Jr, Don Rice and Ray Rice; three sisters, Bessie Anderson, Lottie Umberger and Ethel Rice Price.

He liked to hunt and fish.

Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Charles Rice (Carol) of Austinville VA, Jason Keith Rice (Sharlene) of Austinville VA; two grandchildren, Steven Kyle Mabry and Kaylin Mabry of Austinville VA and Samuel Walton Mabry of Max Meadows VA; four great granddaughters, Amy-Mae, Abigail, Zoe and Savannah; brother, Willie Rice, of North Carolina; sister-in-law Bettie Rice of North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home.
