Leona Thompson Mallory, 79, of Bland VA, passed away, Sunday, March 10, 2024. Born July 9, 1944, in Bastian VA, she was the daughter of the late James and Ida Hounshell Thompson.

She liked going for walks and she enjoyed going to church. She loved flowers and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Mallory Jr, two sons James Thomas Mallory, Michael Udell Mallory, two sisters, Ellen French, Ossie Lang, one brother Elmer Thompson

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanetta Mae Mallory of Bland VA, Rebecca Sue Mallory of Bland VA, two sisters, Ollie Thompson of Bland VA, Barbara Loving of Beckley WV, one grandson Michael Udell Mallory, one granddaughter, Tessa Elizabeth Mallory, several Great Grandchildren and, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 15, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Bland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Cliff Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Bland Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Bland Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bland Community Church or the Bland County Fire Department.
