Leonard Donald Fields, Sr., age 67, of Rocky Gap, VA passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. He was born January 13, 1958 in Richlands, VA and raised in Manassas, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Mullins Fields; step-father, Roy Fields; step-mother, Mary (Myrtle) Stacy; sister, Bonnie Stacy; mother-in-law, Margie Mullins; brothers-in-law, Lee Roy Mullins and David M. (Pojo) Alexander; nephew, Scott Mullins.

Leonard was a truck driver for over 30 years. His main hobby was playing music. He was in several bands, including his own, "The Dirt Band". He was most recently a member of a new band, "Jerry & the Country Rockers with Jerry Isom". His favorite was "Crossroadz" with his best friend, Chris Mitchell of Henderson, NC. They were very close: like brothers. Also, "Lil Merle and the Country Rockers" with Sherman (Lil Merle) Osbourne.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mullins Fields of the home; his children, Nancy Soper (Roger) of Elkwood, VA and Leonard Fields, Jr. of Rural Retreat, VA; grandchildren, Shyla Soper, Caden Soper and Adam Soper; father, Leonard Stacy of Florida; brothers and sisters, Leonard D Stacy (Cindy), Jeff Stacy, Donna Stacy, Vice Stacy, all of Florida and Clara Taylor of Richlands, VA; Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; in-laws, Newton Mullins (Darlene) of Ceres, VA, Sue Mullins Tyeryar (Darryl) of Giles, VA and Angie Loughry (Chuckie) of Quicksburg, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Seth Shortridge officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time.  Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, VA is serving the family.
