Lillian Luella "Nannie" Hancock Williams, age 88, of Wytheville, VA passed away Monday, November 14, 2022. She was born October 25, 1934 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Roy Harrison and Cora Cox Hancock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Williams on June 2, 2018; four brothers, Billy Joe, Johnny, Bernard and Ronald Hancock; a sister, Edna Jones.
As a young couple, Luella and Ernest were married on October 23, 1952 at Jackson Chapel of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church and were members of the church for over 70 years.
Luella is survived by her daughters, Vickie Lambert and Kedric Hilton, Debbie and Bob Fore; her son, Ernie, Jr. and Andrea Williams, all of Wytheville; Grandchildren, Leigh Ann and Rob Reygers, Ernest, III and Jenna Williams, Allyson Williams and Chloe Williams; great- grandchildren, Connor Williams, Kenzie Reygers, Finn Williams and Graham Williams; step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Randall Akers, Jerry and Melissa Fore; step-great-grandchildren, Tyler Fore and Brooklyn, Austin Akers and Ashley, Savannah and Zac Phillips, Dakota McMeans and Maddie; step-great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Lynn, Joe, Rayden, Sydney, Jasper and Lorelai; sisters-in-law, Earlene Hancock of Wytheville and Becky Hancock of Camp Hill, PA; longtime friend, Kitty Baird of Savannah, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and all of her special little ones that she babysat.
The family wishes to thank her special caregivers at Carrington Place of Wytheville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Wytheville Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. John Langham and Reverend Donn Sunshine officiating. Burial will follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 17 th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home or at the homes of her children at any time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Wytheville Presbyterian Church or Wytheville First Church of God.
