Obituary

Linda Inez "Sally" Shinault Blevins, 74 of Wytheville, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 13, 1950 to the late Wilbert and Ellen (Peak) Shinault. One of the hardest workers you would ever meet, Sally worked in many factories around Wytheville. When she was in her 50's, she attended WCC and became one of the few women to earn a degree in Machine Tool Technology. Sally loved fishing, building a blazing hot fire, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Jim "Boof" Blevins and Christopher "Pete" Blevins; daughter Lynn Blevins; brothers Howard "Jim" Shinault, Wilbert "Jake" Shinault, Daniel "Gabe" Shinault, and Steve Shinault; sisters Rose Shinault Hamlin, Marjorie "Polly" Shinault, Melba "Minnie" Shinault, Patricia "Chi Chi" Jennings, and LeJeanne "Suki" Cassell.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lorrie and Scott Mitchell; grandchildren Tyler (Kaitlyn) Blevins, Coty (Megan) Blevins, Ryan Mitchell, and Ella Mitchell; great-grandchildren Weston, Bristol, Maverick Dawson, Maverick Paul, and Nova; three brothers Jack (Susie) Shinault and Preston Shinault of Wytheville and Merle (Kay) Shinault of Groveport, Ohio.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the home of Lorrie and Scott Mitchell at any time.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 3 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home. The service will follow visitation.
