Lois Ruth Copenhaver Litz, age 92 of Rural Retreat, VA, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022.  She was born in Wythe County on May 30, 1929 the daughter of the late Frank M. Copenhaver and May Pannell Copenhaver. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred J. Litz, son Keith E. Litz, brother Wayne Copenhaver and 6 half-siblings.

She was a dedicated wife and mother she loved her family. She was a beloved school teacher for Wythe County Schools.  She had traveled to 48 of the United States.  She was a devoted member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

She is survived by

Ashleigh Litz of Rural Retreat

Caitlin Stroupe and husband James of Crockett

Aaron Litz and wife Trista of Rural Retreat

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1 P.M. prior to the service at the Grace Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Jonathan Hamman officiating.

Private Graveside Service will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Aaron Litz, Jason Litz, Sam Holston, Stephen Hampton, James Stroupe and Richard Ward.
