Mabel Marie Pruitt Shelton, age 77 of Bastian, VA passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022. She was born May 2, 1945 in Bland County, daughter of the late Charlie C. and Mattie Carver Pruitt. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Hope Shelton; brother, Lieutenant Colonel David Pruitt; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Gene Varnado.

Survivors include her grandson, Michael Lee Shelton of Bastian; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifton Lee and Sue Pruitt.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Pastor Cliff Bowman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18th at Rosehill Cemetery.
