Margie Darlene Sheppard

Margie Darlene Maynard Sheppard, age 57, of Valdez, NC passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026. She was born September 8, 1968 in Alexandria, VA and was preceded in death by her father, William Maynard.

Survivors include her son, James Sheppard and wife Crystal of Lenoir, NC; her mother, Patsy Taylor Maynard of Valdez, NC; three sisters, Drema Thompson and Randy of Wayne, WV, Lynn Newsome and William of Ohio, Ursula Maynard and Terry of Harlan, KY; nine grandchildren, Alexis, Bradin, Seth, Maddy, Emiley, Gabe, Ashley, Jon and Alex; six great-grandchildren, Daisey, Kinley, Aari, Ella, Elijah and Kaden. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026 at the Reese Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow the service at Foster Falls Cemetery.  Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the Sheppard family.
