Martha Ann Underwood Gunter, age 74, of Wytheville, VA passed away Friday, January 12, 2024. She was born January 12, 1950 in Pulaski County, VA and was preceded in death by her husband, James C. "Buck" Gunter; her father, Millard Underwood; her mother, Velma Slaughter Perdue; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Billy Tallent.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Dowdy and fiancé Chapin Burks of Wytheville, Teresa and Joe Sheppard of Tazewell, VA; two sisters, Marie Doss of Little Creek, VA and Melinda Goodwin of Riner, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Barnett Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour before service time or at the residence at any time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Barnett Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
