Martha Kennedy, 78, of Wytheville VA, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024. Born April 19, 1946 in Wytheville VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Lineberry Tate.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, son in law Daniel Richmond, great grandchild, Candy Hess.

She enjoyed fishing and playing cornhole with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dan Kennedy; daughter, Susan Richmond; four grandchildren, Amanda (Robert) Hess, Dan (Michelle) Richmond, Cindy (Jeremy) Smith, Julia (Nathan) Justice; 11 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and sister in laws, Johnny (Lonniebelle) Tate, Wayne (Debbie) Tate, James Junior Tate, Andy Tate; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maggie (Larry) Bishop, Gladys (James) Kennedy; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Barnett Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Pastor Charles McPeak officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Barnett Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Barnett Funeral Home is serving the Kennedy family.
